Mazars, an international integrated organisation specialised in audit and advisory services, recently celebrated the full integration of Wiscon Associates, a key player in audit, tax and outsourcing services in Tanzania. This marks Mazars’ entry into the Tanzanian market.

The official launch of the newly rebranded Mazars Wiscon Associates was held at the Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam (The Kilimanjaro) on 19 July 2017. The well-attended event was graced by the France Embassy Economic Advisor, Ms. Beatrice Alperte, in addition to representatives from audit organisations and Tanzanian and foreign businesses.

As part of its international growth strategy, Mazars constantly strives to identify and integrate top firms like Wiscon Associates that share the Group’s values and demonstrate excellence and continued professionalism.

Mazars’ unique business model based on integration preserves a firm’s autonomy while encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing amongst partners, especially within sectors and regional markets.

Mr. Kariem Hoosain, Partner at Mazars South Africa, underlines: “Mazars has established itself as a trusted business partner of companies of all sizes. We owe this reputation not only to our high level of technical expertise, but also to the diversity within our partnership and cross-border cooperation. Integrating Wiscon Associates is fully aligned with Mazars’ ambition to extend our geographical coverage and enhance regional synergies.”

“With an annual GDP growth rate of 7% over the past five years, Tanzania is an attractive market for many reasons: it enjoys an abundance of natural resources including oil & gas, arable land for agriculture, a vibrant mining sector and an active and fast growing tourism sector. Current & planned infrastructure improvements are underway, energised by the government’s drive to promote value addition in the country's production chains. These prospects provide Mazars with the opportunity to deploy international experience and expertise in many sectors,” highlighted Mr. Ipyana Lazaro, Partner at Mazars Wiscon Associates.

Managing partner of the newly rebranded Mazars Wiscon Associates, Ms. Witness Shilekirwa, said that operational integration and Mazars’ “One Team” mentality are key differentiators.

“Joining Mazars’ partnership should boost our credibility in advising larger companies and help us to increase our proportion of assignments amongst both listed and unlisted entities. Working closely with our peers as ‘one team’ within Mazars’ international partnership will allow us to benefit from new expertise and devise comprehensive solutions that can be tailored to our clients’ needs. It’s a personalised approach backed by global business units, service lines and sectorial skills,” emphasises Ms. Shilekirwa.

The merger is effective since 1 January 2017.
